Some Comments about the Pregnancy (Prenatal) Yoga Class.

I found the class to be a welcome retreat out of my busy working week. It was great to have a ‘toned down” pregnant friendly class from my usual one, especially as I got bigger.

The main thing I gained was the specific breathing practices for when experiencing contractions. I actually practiced this through my entire labour. It enabled me to stay focused and determined.

You were really warm and encouraging and I would recommend your class to anyone who is pregnant.

Kind Regards Melanie.

For me,

I think the classes were a big help in labour and looking back I think that’s because yoga teaches you to relax and breathe while your body works and reaches its maximum potential.

I guess I also had the added bonus of attending the class the day I went into labour.

I remember coming home that day and feeling completely” blissed out”

Cheers Andrea.

I learnt a bit about vocal toning in Roselle's natal yoga class and found it really helped me during labour. As I breathed out during contractions I would make a vowel sound, which for me was usually 'aaaaaahhh'. This helped me to internalise my thoughts on the progress of my baby being born as I dilated and in transition. It also helped me remain calm as making the soothing, vibrating noise distracted me from pain. My husband, who with me at the birth, would sometimes join me in the vocal toning - this wasn't something we'd talked about or practiced, but it just felt natural on the day! My midwife commented on the 'lovely deep sounds' I made and was impressed at how they helped each contraction come and go.
